Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is central to Alba’s
identity and business model. It shapes how the Company
operates, engages, and creates value for Bahrain and its
people. CSR at Alba is not an afterthought, it is a
long-term investment in sustainable progress, designed to
balance business growth with social equity and
environmental stewardship.
Guided by Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030 and aligned with
international ESG standards, Alba’s CSR strategy focuses
on four key areas: community development, environmental
stewardship, volunteerism and social empowerment, and
responsible labour practices. Each area translates the
Company’s values into tangible results that enrich lives
and strengthen national resilience.
Investing in Community Development
In 2025, Alba’s social investment programme acted as a
catalyst for social growth and national pride with a focus
on empowering young Bahrainis, advancing sports, tourism,
and enriching Bahrain’s cultural landscape. The Company
supported education, national sports bodies, flagship
events such as the Bahrain Formula 1 Grand Prix and
Bahrain Tourism and Exhibition Authority’s ‘Bahrain
Celebrates’ national festivities, helping attract
visitors, stimulate local businesses and showcase
Bahrain’s heritage to regional and international
audiences.
Education and Youth Empowerment:
Scholarships through the Isa bin Salman Educational
Charitable Fund supported aspiring students from
low-income families, unlocking access to higher education
and skill development opportunities.
Sports and Cultural Sponsorships:
Through major partnerships with the Rashid Horse Racing
Club, Bahrain International Circuit, and national cycling
initiatives, Alba helped showcase Bahrain on the global
stage while promoting healthy, active lifestyles. These
events engaged hundreds of thousands of residents and
visitors, reinforcing Bahrain’s reputation as a vibrant
sporting and cultural destination.
Collectively, these initiatives reflect Alba’s belief that
strong communities underpin sustainable economic growth
and that investing in people today builds the workforce
and leadership of tomorrow.
Every sponsorship, every programme, every volunteer hour
is an investment in the future leaders and change-
makers of Bahrain.

Advancing Environmental Stewardship
Environmental protection continued to be a major area of
impact for Alba in 2025. The Company surpassed its target
by planting 9,785 trees -- a 60% increase over its annual
goal -- while supporting biodiversity and carbon
sequestration efforts across the Kingdom.
Through the donation of 15,000 mangrove seedlings to
schools and other institutions, Alba strengthened
environmental education, equipping students with the
knowledge to act as future sustainability advocates. The
expansion of the Mangrove Nursery at HRH Princess
Sabeeka’s Oasis, with its capacity to host up to 28,000
shrubs, is a tangible demonstration of partnership between
industry and government. This project will help accelerate
Bahrain’s national target to double tree coverage and
quadruple mangrove density by 2035, directly contributing
to the Kingdom’s Net-Zero 2060 ambitions.
Tree planting activities such as those led by employees at
Alba’s Power Station 5 during National Tree Week also
encourage a sense of collective responsibility, embedding
environmental consciousness into the Company’s daily
culture.
Empowering Through Community Service and
Volunteerism
Alba’s culture of volunteerism remained strong, anchored
in compassion and community spirit. In 2025, women-led
initiatives under the slogan ‘Heartfelt Care’ stood out as
an example of inclusive leadership in action.
Healthcare Support:
Volunteers visited the Children’s Ward at Salmaniya
Medical Complex, offering companionship and kindness to
young patients and families.
Environmental Action:
Tree-planting and beach-cleaning activities by female
employees raised community awareness of sustainability and
civic responsibility, reaching hundreds of students and
residents.
Youth Engagement: Alba’s
partnership with INJAZ Bahrain for a dynamic five-day
summer camp equipped employee children with real-world
skills – ranging from financial literacy to innovation and
entrepreneurship – illustrating how corporate resources
can shape future leaders.
Additionally, by hosting the Ministry of Labour’s Safe and
Healthy Summer programme and joining the Joint Oil Spill
Exercise with key industrial partners, Alba strengthened
Bahrain’s national response capabilities and promoted
inter-industry collaboration.
Overall, these initiatives generated far-reaching impact
by enhancing community well-being, empowering women, and
inspiring sustainable values through action.
Strengthening Social Management Practices
Alba’s commitment to responsible labour practices is
reinforced through its Social Management Framework,
aligned with the International Finance Corporation (IFC)
Performance Standards. This framework translates global
principles into day-to-day governance, ensuring fair
labour conditions, human rights protection, and ethical
supply chain management.
In 2025, Alba’s Social Performance Team intensified
monitoring and engagement through:
Awareness and Education:
Conducting sessions for contractor workers on workplace
rights, anti-human trafficking, and Bahrain’s Wage
Protection System.
True value is created when industry becomes a partner in
national development, not just a participant in the
economy.

Site Engagement: Visiting 13
departments to promote workers’ wellbeing during extreme
heat, promote hydration and rest breaks, and raise overall
health and safety awareness.
Compliance Audits: Performing payroll reviews across 15
contractors and random spot audits on three, ensuring
transparency and alignment with IFC and LMRA standards.
Through these actions, Alba not only upheld its
obligations but also contributed to raising industry-wide
standards for worker treatment and corporate integrity
within Bahrain’s industrial ecosystem.
Looking Ahead
The achievements of 2025 reflect Alba’s holistic and
measurable approach to social responsibility one that
turns corporate growth into shared value for employees,
communities, and the environment. In 2026 and beyond, Alba
will accelerate its focus on long-term partnerships,
data-driven impact measurement, and alignment with
Bahrain’s national sustainability agenda, reinforcing its
position as a champion of responsible industrial
leadership.
